I discovered the hard way on a recent project that there are some things I simply cannot get Word to do which WordPerfect does quite easily. The program I currently use for that is DeedPlotter+ for Windows from Greenbriar Graphics and, occasionally, MapDraw from Informatik.Īs for OpenOffice, it's almost completely a Microsoft Office clone, or at least it appears so to me, and as I've stated, I use Microsoft Office ONLY under duress. I need a program which will work in obscure, archaic land measurement terms, such as varas, as well as modern terms such as feet and meters. I need to plat the metes and bounds of various tracts of land and, sometimes, merge the tracts together in a way that I can differentiate between the tracts. I can understand your confusion about a mapping program.
